Oil colour is an important indicator of oil quality. Changes in colour reveal ageing, oxidation or possible contamination. The Kytola OILCOL oil colour analyser monitors oil quality online in real time to help prevent damage to oil-lubricated equipment, saving time and cost compared with conventional laboratory sampling and analysis.

OILCOL measures oil colour using the ASTM D1500 colour scale. Results are expressed as 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, … 8. Lower values indicate lighter oil; higher values indicate darker oil.

The Kytola OILCOL oil colour analyser is suitable for liquid petroleum products, including lubricating oil, fuel oil, diesel, mineral insulating oil and hydraulic oil.
