1. Magnetic reed flow detectors have NO or NC contacts. (a) NO: a signal is sent continuously while oil flows through the tube. (b) NC: a signal is sent continuously while no oil flows through the tube.

2. The reed switch changes contact state in response to a magnet inside the flow detector, without contacting the oil.

3. The reed switch can be adjusted to the required position and stays secure under vibration, preventing unintended operation.

4. Mounting angle is unrestricted; vertical or horizontal installation does not affect detection.

5. The high-flow reed-switch flow detector can be combined with the oil adjustment base of a BS distributor. Options with 2–6 outlets allow flow adjustment and monitoring across multiple tubes.

6. For lubrication systems using reed-switch flow detectors, a fixed oil strainer or double-sided oil strainer is recommended. Both contain magnets that remove iron particles from the oil and prevent interference with the flow detector’s magnet.

7. Standard reed-switch flow detectors are recommended for resistance-type and oil-return electric lubricators.

8. The high-flow reed-switch flow detector is recommended for use with CYP-10A through CYP-13A oil-supply pumps and return-oil electric lubricators.

9. Because the reed-switch flow detector adds resistance, lubricant flow downstream is lower than upstream.

10. Liquid properties, temperature, viscosity and spring force affect the reed-switch flow detector’s detection range and pressure.
